1hr of running + 1hr of gym = OH YEAH

HI. I rock.

Today I woke up and headed to my local coffee shop;) to daydream and email and check tumblr and write letters and read my Bible. Totally an amwesome “ME” time. Then I headed to…… the trails!

Before I started my run I spotted my ex-boyfriend with one of his friends (little did I know at that point in time that he wasn’t gonna be the only “out of the blue” thing I was gonna be seeing this morning).

I waved effusively (yeah, we’re friends) and then I just started my run. Run up and down little trail mountains… run, run, run. Then at mile 1.5ish I spotted LIONEL!!! Last summer I blogged about this one cute turtle I found on the trail once… and I named him Lionel. I saw him today again! (almost a year later!). Kept running with a huge smile on my face, hit the turn-around point at 2.5 and ran back.

I was approaching the park when OMG SNAKE! A couple of weeks ago I spotted a snake, but it was half of its body out from like a bush and it wasn’t moving… but this one WAS MOVING, across the trail. I jumped over it and freaked out. Stopped. Turned around and walked back to watch it do its sliding thing.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING! haha. Then I drove to Mother’s Market to get soy milk, Boca burgers and chick’n strips;) LAWL.

THEN, I went to the GYM!
I did a speed workout. 4 x 400m. and 1 x 800m at pace 7:30min/mi and 7:00min/mi. Then I proceeded to do arms and core.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 7.5

Came home, took a shower, ate and left the house to get my sister and drive her places. Now I’m home again. I’m about to have some coffee with toast YUM! And then I’ll call it a day.

If all of my days were like today, I’d have a killer body in no time.
  

7.8 run

Yeah. I almost walked.

I didn’t mean for it to be that long. I was planning a 5-7 run and today was not the best day to run 7.8 under the sun. At the end of the run I was very dehydrated and dizzy, and I still don’t know how I drove home because I don’t remember driving hahaha……. :/ I just remember sitting in my car, outside my house wondering how I got there. BUT ANYWAY, I made it alive (both the run and the drive home).

I ended up eating pasta and separating as much of the turkey as I could from it. I added some broccoli to add greens and later on I just had a cup of coffee with some toast and then an apple. I should be good to go now… go to bed that is.

Tomorrow I am hoping to do a speed workout on the treadmill at 6AM…HA, we’ll see. And arms and core are also tomorrow. Now, I am just gonna go to bed and try to sleep.

8.0 miles.

I am really tired.
I could nap until tomorrow, but I have rehearsals for an event going on tomorrow and therefore I must endure this sleepy pain.

My run was awesome. It was hard because my shoulders were really tight:/ but other than that, I was just very into it. It was rather flat but that’s okay… it was a longggg one.
This means I’ll be on the double digits in two weeks! So excited for it!!!

Okay, I’m done.
I’m gonna take a mental nap.

Recovery. Oh recovery.


I love eggs.
I am seriously gonna miss them.

Today I had a hard-bolied egg and a slice of sourdough bread (best one ever) with butter. Duh. And that was it for my pre-workout meal.
Then I headed out the door into the cold…ish morning. My run was really smooth and nice. It was all flat and nothing really bothered me.
The total was 7.1 and the time was 62:00 minutes which is another 8:40min/mi average run, which is FREAKING AWESOME.

After that I had breakfast in my car… oh yeahhhh. I had a mushroom/kale omelette and a cup of chocolate soy milk:D and then a banana and plenty of water.

For the rest of the day I have no idea what my meals look like yet… maybe soup since it’s cold? And I will be doing ab workouts later on as well.

Another good run:)

Ran 5.3 in 45:30 ish wich is a bit less than 8:40min/mi.

OMGSH…

I ran 7.3 miles in 63:30mins which is a 8:40min/mi pace…..
HOLY CRAP!

I am speechless. I am so proud of my hard work paying off. I am SO gonna keep pushing myself and killing myself doing speed workouts because IT WORKS!! :D

I really don’t know what else to do now… haha I was just running a 10min/mi pace two weeks ago…. TWO WEEKS AGO. How crazy cool is that?! I KNOW! haha sorry I am just reallyyyy happy:) I just made my day!

5.0 miles in 42:00 minutes. Mhmmm.

So I ran today:)
And it was great, and I was fast, and I was energized!

It went something like this:

400m @ 8:00min/mi
400m @ 9:00min/mi (recovery)
400m @ 7:50min/mi
400m @ 9:00min/mi (recovery)
400m @ 7:40min/mi
400m @ 9:00min/mi (recovery)

400m @ 9:00min/mi (recovery)
800m @ 7:40min/mi

1.0mi cool down @ 9:00-8:40 min/mi
TOTAL: 5.0 miles in 42:00mins.

Then I did my core/abs workout and worked on my arms as well. I had an awesome time, seriously. I am glad I got to get my run done as a speed session and now I am mentally prepared for tomorrow’s 6.0 mile run!

Now I am having some of this…
Yogi tea:) “Stomach Ease” to help me digest my dinner (steak with potatoes and rice). And also, my sister and I are now watching Friends and hanging out. Later on I am gonna… do some arms and plan my meals and read running articles! haha

Pushing the limits.

Today my run was a killer.

There was a point where I wasn’t running with my legs anymore, I was running with my mind. I pushed myself through a 6-miler. I wasn’t supposed to run 6 miles today… I just hit 6 miles last Friday. But man, there’s something inside of me that makes me wanna compete against my self, test my limits you know? Well today was that day.

This run has a killer hill, pretty darn bad… where by the way I saw like 20 lizards, a snake and plenty of bunnies. And although it was hard and my entire body is in pain, I am so darn proud that I did it!

Therefore, this week, my longest run could be a 7-8 miler. I am so pumped! SO excited! I cannot wait until I get to 10+ miles. So I am definitely looking forward to my long run. Also, I looked up some speed interval training and found some pretty amazing ones. I’ll be trying them out soon and posting them here as well.

4.0 miles + 3.0 miles

Today was AWESOME! I went on my Friday run and did 4.0 miles. The weather was nice, it was chilly but very nice. I wore long sleeves and never felt hot, nor cold. The only bad thing about it was that when I was done my butt was hurting… like piriformis butt pain :/ UGH! I hate HATE that pain, that has been the worst injury I’ve had ever back when I was in high school. I had to stop running for like 4 months for it to heal completely and then I was deadly scared to go back to running. So when I was done today of course I felt like an avalanche was gonna overtake me. But I came home and tried to stretch (didn’t help much, but oh well), I told myself I would take it easy.. easier I guess.

But then it started raining, so………. I went on another run :D
OMGSH one of the best runs in my life for sure, I LOVE..LOVE running in the rain, it’s the best thing ever, it’s better than chocolate brownies. AHHH! I was drenched, it was pouring, I was almost drowning but I made it alive and felt like I could climd Mt. Everest… naked. That’s right.

Now I’m just sitting here watchingFriends with my sis hoping I won’t get sick… I WON’T! ;)

Running has the power to set you free…

Today my day was blahhhhh. And then, I ran.

Seriously.

I didn’t even want to run because I was feeling down because there’s this one guy and dsjkalfjdfdk. So anyway, I started my run (no iPod, because my head was filled with useless thoughts) and kept going and going and feeling the cold wind on my face. It felt nice. I felt free and careless for a bit (trust me, if you knew me as I am… that’s a true miracle). It was good, it was good.

4.0 miles total and tomorrow I have a speed workout at 6AM. YAY! -___-
No but really, yay:)

I should be doing homework, but instead I am drinking coffee, texting my ex boyfriend and checking every single blog here on Tumblr. Hooray for procrastination!

Rainy weather

It is rainy in SoCal.

Today I have planned a 4-miler on the trail. This trail isn’t bad (at all), it’s pretty flat all the way through. This fact got me thinking about my need to find hilly trails. I know a couple, and honestly, anything around the place I live in is hilly (except formytrail). I could easily do a hilly workout today but I had a speed session yesterday and therefore I should do a recovery run this afternoon. Choices, choices.

Today I also have to do arms. After the workout I’m having dinner and then heading out to theCoffee Beanwith my sister to get homework done. I will probably just order regular coffee or just drink my water or buy chocolate milk… No clue yet. All I know is that I believe I am officially in “Running Mode” which is amazing and awesome and supercool:)

Hopefully I have a good day… although I am already at school and realized that I forgot my pencil case at home:/ which means I am stuck here at the library for another 2 hours without a pen or pencil. BUT mygreatattitude will turn that around;) haha…………
