1hr of running + 1hr of gym = OH YEAH

HI. I rock.

Today I woke up and headed to my local coffee shop;) to daydream and email and check tumblr and write letters and read my Bible. Totally an amwesome “ME” time. Then I headed to…… the trails!

Before I started my run I spotted my ex-boyfriend with one of his friends (little did I know at that point in time that he wasn’t gonna be the only “out of the blue” thing I was gonna be seeing this morning).

I waved effusively (yeah, we’re friends) and then I just started my run. Run up and down little trail mountains… run, run, run. Then at mile 1.5ish I spotted LIONEL!!! Last summer I blogged about this one cute turtle I found on the trail once… and I named him Lionel. I saw him today again! (almost a year later!). Kept running with a huge smile on my face, hit the turn-around point at 2.5 and ran back.

I was approaching the park when OMG SNAKE! A couple of weeks ago I spotted a snake, but it was half of its body out from like a bush and it wasn’t moving… but this one WAS MOVING, across the trail. I jumped over it and freaked out. Stopped. Turned around and walked back to watch it do its sliding thing.

WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MORNING! haha. Then I drove to Mother’s Market to get soy milk, Boca burgers and chick’n strips;) LAWL.

THEN, I went to the GYM!
I did a speed workout. 4 x 400m. and 1 x 800m at pace 7:30min/mi and 7:00min/mi. Then I proceeded to do arms and core.

TOTAL MILEAGE: 7.5

Came home, took a shower, ate and left the house to get my sister and drive her places. Now I’m home again. I’m about to have some coffee with toast YUM! And then I’ll call it a day.

If all of my days were like today, I’d have a killer body in no time.
  

Running, Tanning and Some More

Hello.
So I rean 6 amazing miles in 54 minutes and I couldn’t be more excited! The weather was so lovely and sunny and happy. It was definitely happy weather. I toltally felt the endorphins working their magic on me:)

Then I came home to undergo suicide on my mat. I did arms and abs and I was close to giving up because they hurt.. they BURNED!

Then I went tanning. And took a picture of my current bikini bod…
 

Yeahhhhhhhh……. It needs more work but we’re getting there. I still have 4 weeks until I get out of school and two more until most of my friends get out and we hit the Southern California beaches (SO excited!). So I have hope that this thang ^^ will look a bit more toned by then.

Other than that I’ve had a pretty cool day. Had a good scrambled eggs breakfast with an apple and coffee. Then I had another egg after my run and then a banana. Now I am just waiting for my family to come home so we can all eat dinner (grilled chicken today). After that I’m just staying home:)

Running has the power to set you free…

Today my day was blahhhhh. And then, I ran.

Seriously.

I didn’t even want to run because I was feeling down because there’s this one guy and dsjkalfjdfdk. So anyway, I started my run (no iPod, because my head was filled with useless thoughts) and kept going and going and feeling the cold wind on my face. It felt nice. I felt free and careless for a bit (trust me, if you knew me as I am… that’s a true miracle). It was good, it was good.

4.0 miles total and tomorrow I have a speed workout at 6AM. YAY! -___-
No but really, yay:)

I should be doing homework, but instead I am drinking coffee, texting my ex boyfriend and checking every single blog here on Tumblr. Hooray for procrastination!

Rainy weather

It is rainy in SoCal.

Today I have planned a 4-miler on the trail. This trail isn’t bad (at all), it’s pretty flat all the way through. This fact got me thinking about my need to find hilly trails. I know a couple, and honestly, anything around the place I live in is hilly (except formytrail). I could easily do a hilly workout today but I had a speed session yesterday and therefore I should do a recovery run this afternoon. Choices, choices.

Today I also have to do arms. After the workout I’m having dinner and then heading out to theCoffee Beanwith my sister to get homework done. I will probably just order regular coffee or just drink my water or buy chocolate milk… No clue yet. All I know is that I believe I am officially in “Running Mode” which is amazing and awesome and supercool:)

Hopefully I have a good day… although I am already at school and realized that I forgot my pencil case at home:/ which means I am stuck here at the library for another 2 hours without a pen or pencil. BUT mygreatattitude will turn that around;) haha…………

5.0 miles. Woot Woot!

Today I woke up at 6:30AM and got ready for my FRIDAY RUN! I don’t have school on Fridays so I am gonna use this day to do my longer runs.
It was chilly outside so I decided to wear my brand new long-sleeve Athleta shirt. Oh my goodness it’s not only super pretty but it’s so comfy and warm:)

So I headed to the park and started my run. Now, I didn’t eat anything before it becuase I want to lose some excess fat and running on an empty stomach does burn fat since you haven’t eaten anything and your sugar levels are low. I blasted some music since it was cold and early and I needed a little push.
The run itself was nice, I wasn’t extremely tired and my stomach never bothered me and I didn’t get a headache either.
After the run I ate a banana and had some water and headed to my room to do my arms/core workout. It burned. It was good. I am tired:) I will post the workouts I do later on so you can look forward to that;)

I decided to start a new “THING” where I post pictures of my progress on Fridays (maybe?). Today I took two pictures of my abdominal area: front and side. I’ll post them on a picture post.

For the rest of the day I plan to watch Gossip Girl and I’m meeting a friend at The Coffee Bean at 6PM and then church for Good Friday service. It should be an easy mellow day. Half of it it’s already gone anyway.

You know WHO just MADE my DAY?!

I did!

why? Because I ran 4.0 miles in 32 minutes, which is a pace of 8:00 minutes per mile. And I wasn’t even pushing it! OH MY GOODNESS…. what is up with me?! I am not supposed to be this fast this soon. I’m thinking it’s because I haven’t ran since Saturday so my legs got to rest and I ate plenty of carbs before my run:) So proud though! So happy I am making progress:’)

Btw- I did not run on the treadmill. I ran on the trail, no music. Just the trail and me, right after Chemistry lab.

Morning run (7.0 miles)

This morning I got up at 7:30AM and immediately headed out the door for the 7 miler I had prepared.
I didn’t eat anything because I wanted it to be a slow and steady run. And it was! I did not breathe hard at any moment, my pace was about 10:00min/mi and so NO I was not jogging.
The only “bad” thing about this run was that I don’t like to go slow… so it was a constant battle with my mind. I would have to remind myself to remain calm and not worry about the people that were passing me (GRR.). But overall it was a lovely run.

This afternoon I ran about a mile with my sister. She’s getting better everyday. Can’t wait to run 10+ miles with her in a couple of months<3

Killing the treadmill and how I can sing while I run at an 8:00min/mi pace

So tonight I was about to just stay home and eat and go to sleep.

BUT… I ran.

I jumped on the treadmill and I was feeling rather powerful since I had endured 5 hours of studying for tonight’s Bio exam, so I thought..”what is 3.0 miles!” RIGHT? Right! So I ran at 9:00 pace, then 8:30 then kept 8:00 for the last 2 miles and a half. HECK YES… and not only that, I was also singing along to Paramore as they blasted on my ears… so that is PROOF that I can push myself even harder. I’m such a lazy butt sometimes. Today my sister told me proudly that she ran 11 minutes and even bumped up speed the last minute or so.

So proud:’)

Now my back is killing me for sitting down all day long.
Oh OHH I was also thinking that I might want to start posting about my life…like my face… should I? I have noticed that most of the blogs I love the most is those where the author puts herself or himself out there for the public… it just makes it more real, you know… idk, thoughts?

6.0 mile fail, and 3.0 mile instead….

GOSH.
Everything I post is related to how much I’m sucking at keeping up with my running. This morning I was supposed to get on the treadmill at 5:45AM and run until 6:45 and then get ready to take my sis to school and get myself ready for school as well. Well THAT did not happen as planned. I woke up at 6:20AM instead and just settled for a 30 minute run. BLAH.
It felt great and whatnot, and I am totally awake now and enjoying a tall pike place at my favorite place;) But I truly needed to get my stuff done earlier.
Tomorrow I am doing the usual 3.5mi and 10 mins with the sis.
Better days will come I promise.

BTW, I keep checking my dashboard to read more about this girl’s awesomeness due to her marathon debut at NY!

So I was a good girl and ran 4.0 miles today.

I am SO ashamed to say that I ran 4.0 miles. But I just have no time:( Today was so windy! it was crazy windy.

AND, I also went to a XC race held at the park where I run. It was my high school’s League’s Final:’) Aww it was so cool to feel the XC vibe all aroun and remember the old times. It was fantastic. I saw my ex coach’s daughter running! (She was so young when I was in the team, and during the summer she would follow us around on her bike).

It was overall a pretty decent run, I’m not gonna lie. I am not yet timing my runs, so I have no clue what my pace was……… not that I wanna know anyway.

Tomorrow, fingers (and toes) crossed, I get to kick some dirt again.
