8.0 (plus 1.5) miles of HELL

I woke up feeling just a tad sore from yesterday’s gym sesh. Like I said, just a tad. So I headed out for my planned 8 miler. The weather was not helpful at all, typical California winter weather on a Saturday: 80-someting DRY degrees with DRY wind. It was a darn DRY run. My legs started to give up on me at mile 2. Haha. But heck, I had planned this so I was gonna run the whole darn thing.

Headed for the 1.0 mile uphill delight and prayed right before I started jogging up it. It burned. I hit the lactic acid wall… hard. The top of the hill represents my turn-around point, so I happily turned the heck around. Not pretty. I knew my 4.0 miles back were gonna make me look like a melting popsicle… blah.

Now that I look back I can only laugh. Oh my goodness I hadn’t had one of these runs in a long time. LONG time. And the funniest thing is that on my way back as I was about a mile away from home I remembered that I had to leave right away to run with Pamela… 1.5 miles, which would make my total mileage bump up to 9.5. Yeahhhhh. Now I’m proud because I actually ran the whole thing, but a couple of hours ago I wanted to cry. I would’ve looked too ridiculous crying by the side of the road so I manned-up and kept running until I got home.

1.5 miles were just as bad. But I had company so that added someone I could complain to;) Once we were both done with our runs we started breakfast and ate eggs with a yum-yum smoothie.

Now, I am at the library… about to head home because I’ve been getting headaches lately:/ and right now this one is killing me.

Hope all of you are having a better day than me:)
